Summary
We are currently recruiting for an Instrumentation Technician for our growing service business in Whitecourt and Western Canada. The successful candidate will be based out of our Whitecourt Service Centre, and will report to the Manager, Valve Service. This position will entail providing support on products such as: Variety of Isolation Valves, actuators, Gas Hydraulics, controllers, and all accessories Spartan offers such as DVC, SIS DVC’s, Solenoids, boosters, trip valves, speed controls, limit switches and airsets. Performing calibrations on controllers, signatures using valvelink and AMS.

The successful candidate must be based out of or willing to relocate to Whitecourt, as the standard shift for this role is Monday thru Friday.
Role and Responsibilities
• Service, assemble and test Isolation valves and instrumentation
• Service, assemble and test Control valves and instrumentation
• Interface with internal and external customers
• Field service work is required in plant or in on-site service unit
• Support our OEM business with onsite repairs
• Ability to work overtime to meet customer requirements
• Operate both forklifts and cranes
• Participate in a 7/24 rotation
Qualifications and Skills
• Mechanically knowledgeable
• Preference will be given to candidates with a Journeyman / Journeywoman / Journeyperson or Technologist Degree in Instrumentation
• Previous Instrumentation field service or depot experience with Isolation valves and actuation an asset
• Experience with Hydrotesting Valves considered an asset
• Experience with Emerson equipment considered an asset
• Solid keyboarding and computer skills
• Excellent problem-solving ability
• Strong interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills
• Able to produce quality documentation in a timely and accurate manner
• Entrepreneurial work ethic
• Physically able to lift a minimum of 35 lbs.
• Valid Alberta driver's license and willingness to travel
• This position has been deemed as safety sensitive - successful candidates will be required to pass a pre-employment Alcohol and Drug test
