Summary
We are currently recruiting for a Field Service Specialist, Machinery Performance Field Services, based in Red Deer. The successful candidate will be tasked with supporting our customers on a range of Spartan products and solutions related to our Machinery Performance Solutions business unit. This is an opportunity for individuals who want to work with a leading automation supplier, providing innovative solutions based on industry-recognized technologies in some of the largest installations in the world. The position will report to the Manager, Field Service.
Role and Responsibilities
- Provide on-demand field service support to gas compression control and ignition applications, with a focus on products and solutions sold through our E&C Solutions division, such as:
- Sloan Lubrication, TanDelta Oil Analysis and Air Fuel Ratio applications.
- On-Site start-up and commissioning services
- Site walkdowns for quote and application accuracy
- Involvement in installation and repair of Sloan, TanDelta, and Altronic products Spartan Controls supplies
- Conduct research and development activities such as new product installations, tests and documentation of test results
- Quality assurance on new equipment including testing new hardware, installations, systems.
- Telephone customer support on Sloan, TanDelta, and Altronic products and solutions
- Interfacing with Internal and external customers
- Participating in our 7/24 on call rotation
- Frequent domestic travel with potential travel to the US
Qualifications and Skills
- 10 years progressively more complex hands-on experience with reciprocating engines/compressors.
- Instrumentation/Electrical/Mechanic/Millwright Trade Certification
- Experience with industrial software and familiarity with computer hardware fundamentals; programming experience is an asset
- Experience with Engines and Compression Equipment is an asset.
- Strong technical knowledge in engines and engine tuning.
- Strong problem-solving skills
- Solid customer service habits and practices
- Self-directed and able to work independently, as well as in a team environment
- Ability to produce quality documentation in a timely and accurate manner
- Physical requirements: able to drive long distances (typically in the range of 2 to 6 hours one way); occasional moderate lifting (ie: up to approximately 25 kg)
- Valid Alberta driver's license, safe driving record and willing/able to travel both domestically and internationally
- Entrepreneurial work ethic
