Summary

Signet Monitoring and Analysis, a Spartan Controls company, provides emission testing, catalyst services, vibration analysis, and reliability engineering to optimize equipment performance. Based in Red Deer, Alberta, our expert team serves Western Canada, meeting increasing industry demands.

 

We are currently recruiting for an Emissions Technical Support role to join Signet/Spartan’s Emissions team, based in Calgary, Edmonton, Red Deer, or Grande Prairie. The successful candidate will work remotely to support the delivery of emissions analysis and will report directly to the Manager, Emissions.

 

This role focuses on supporting and providing turnkey emissions testing and program management services utilizing CEMS-grade testing equipment, delivering detailed testing reports, minimizing environmental impact, and ensuring regulatory compliance.

Role and Responsibilities

Schedule and Plan Testing

  • Assist Emissions Planner Scheduler with organizing emissions testing for various sources requiring emissions testing
  • Obtain necessary details (equipment type, test type, logistics, manlift requirements) to plan testing work
  • Support scheduling in a logical format to minimize travel and fill operational gapss

Data Verification and Reporting

  • Gather all required field data to support testing
  • Produce power data based on site conditions, including horsepower curves (GERP, WKI, Ariel, etc.)
  • Verify data quality and compliance before completing regulatory tests
  • Compile and submit detailed emissions testing reports, including EPEA Approval Reports (ETS IAM, IWW, SES, AMD forms, and CEMS audits)
  • Assist with backlog reporting review and cover for vacation

Calibration Gas Management

  • Assist in managing calibration gas inventories and ensure testing qualities

Health and Safety

  • Adhere to health and safety policies and ensure proper care and operation of equipment

Quality Control

  • Review and quality-check co-worker reports
  • Participate in continuous improvement initiatives to enhance report quality and efficiency

Qualifications and Skills

  • Degree or technical diploma in Environmental Science or equivalent experience, technologist, or a trade certification (e.g., Heavy Duty, Automotive, Millwright) is preferred
  • Strong mechanical aptitude
  • Proven customer service skills
  • Effective interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills
  • Knowledge and experience with rotating and reciprocating machinery
  • Basic knowledge of network and IT systems
  • Highly motivated and innovative self-starter
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment
