Summary

We are currently recruiting for a Technical Sales Specialist (Outside Sales) for our Measurement & Flow Business Units, based in the Peace Region (Grande Prairie, AB or Fort St John, BC).   The successful candidate will help develop and deliver on the Measurement & Flow business units growth plans while working collaboratively in a team selling environment. A key measure of success in this role will be development as well as fostering of mutually beneficial customer relationships at existing or new accounts.

Role and Responsibilities

  • Proactively pursue Measurement & Flow business and applications with our customers in the Peace Region.
  • Maintain and aggressively build relationships with our customers to favourably position our current offerings of Measurement & Flow products and services
  • Champion key initiatives on behalf of the Measurement & Flow Business Units
  • Have a strong understanding of multiple measurement and flow technologies and their process applications
  • Work to become an expert (technology champion) in a narrow range of measurement and/or flow technologies
  • Consistently & effectively perform demand creation actions with target customers including lunch-n-learn presentations, customer office and/or site visits, site walkdowns, technology workshops, demos, or similar
  • Drive growth and deliver bookings goals for the Measurement & Flow Business Units
  • Work closely with our Territory Managers, Account Managers & Business Development project pursuit leaders to ensure they are well supported to win Measurement & Flow business
  • Consistently utilize and leverage Spartan’s CRM tool to track, manage & support success of Measurement & Flow scope on sales pursuits
  • Manage relationships with our Principals, understanding their available products, services, and business strategies
  • Understand customer and business insights through SAC reporting tools to develop sales strategies for targeting whitespace and other growth opportunities
  • Engage with all aspects of Spartan and Principals’ delivery of products and services, to ensure customer satisfaction and continued preference
  • Promote deeper connection and alignment between customers and Principals through factory visitations and innovation collaboration
  • Support  multi-business unit solution development involving Measurement and/or Flow products
  • Support our Application Sales team (Inside Sales)
  • Support and participate in various Industry Association conferences, schools, and training seminars as well as Spartan training events 

Qualifications and Skills

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or other related discipline, or a Technical Diploma
  • 4+ years related industry experience
  • Ability to develop and deliver presentations and training material
  • Demonstrated Customer Service and Sales with industrial customers
  • Strong technical problem-solving skills
  • Effective communication, time management and organizational skills
  • Proficiency with MS Office software including Outlook, Calendar, Word, Power Point, Excel
  • Positive team contributor and collaborator
  • Energetic can-do attitude
  • Entrepreneurial work ethic
  • Valid driver’s license and passport, as travel is required
