Summary

We are currently recruiting for an Instrumentation Field Service Specialist – Isolation / Control Valve with service depot support specializing in Isolation and Control valve products.  The position will be based out of our Edmonton Service Centre facility.  The successful candidate will provide support on products such as; control valves, actuators, controller, positioners and all accessories Spartan offers (i.e. DVC, Solenoids, boosters, trip valves, speed controls, limit switches and air sets). You will also be responsible for performing calibrations, signatures using Valve Link and AMS, and commissioning and repairing all types of regulators and pilots.

Role and Responsibilities

  • Provide on-site field service support for our Isolation/Control Instrumentation customers
  • Startup and commissioning of all Isolation/Control products as required by customers
  • Supporting the sales team with technical telephone and field support
  • Trouble shooting, installation, repairs on variety of Isolation and Control products and regulators
  • Provide telephone customer support on Isolation and Control Instrumentation
  • Responsibility for in-house repairs of products when not at site
  • Extra work hours are required during spring and fall shutdowns and any on demand work
  • Operate both forklifts and cranes
  • Support last-minute customer requests, weekends, after hours etc.
  • Support regional repairs at other Spartan service centers
  • Work out of town / Edmonton area supporting Saskatchewan, BC etc.
  • Leak tests, hydrostatic testing, signatures
  • Work independently and with teams

 

Qualifications and Skills

  • One of the following; Diploma from a 2-year Technologist Instrumentation program, Journeyman Instrumentation Certificate, or registered as a 2nd or 3rd year Instrumentation Apprentice
  • Previous Instrumentation field service or depot experience with Isolation and Control valves an asset
  • Strong trouble shooting skills
  • Comprehensive computer background and skills
  • Excellent customer service skills
  • Strong interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills
  • Able to produce quality documentation in a timely and accurate manner
  • Entrepreneurial work ethic
  • Able to learn and work on multiple Spartan / Emerson products
  • Physically able to lift minimum of 50 lbs.
  • Valid Alberta driver's license, safe driving record and willing to travel

  • This position has been deemed as safety sensitive - successful candidates will be required to pass a pre-employment Alcohol & Drug test
