Summary

We are recruiting for an Automation, Measurement & Ignition Product Support Technician Co-op Student for an 8-month term with our team in Edmonton. The successful candidate will assist the team in providing support on a wide variety of automation, measurement and ignition products. Products include Truck Unloading Panels, Micro Motion, Drexelbrook, Phase Dynamics, Analytical Instrumentation, Rosemount Transmitters, RTUs, Detronics (fire and gas), Federal Signal and Pelco Camera’s.

Role and Responsibilities

•    Provide shop support for our Measurement and Fire and Safety product lines 
•    Provide depot service coverage and capacity support for our Ignition and Automation products 
•    Circuit board to system level troubleshooting and repairs on measurement, ignition and automation products 
•    Modifying inventory, loading custom configurations, and staging and inspecting of orders to assist in expediting sales solutions 
•    Quality assurance on new equipment including testing hardware and debugging new software 
•    Provide warranty and customer return evaluations 
•    Responsibility for in-house and factory repair processes 
•    Support sales and customers with technical telephone support (field support as required) 
•    Interfacing with internal and external customers in a professional manner 
•    Generating detailed accurate customer repair and inspection reports 
•    Participation in our 24/7 on call rotation 
 
 

Qualifications and Skills

•    Current student in the Instrumentation Technology program required  
•    Previous instrumentation or electronics service experience an asset 
•    Previous fabrication or manufacturing experience would be valuable 
•    Ability to troubleshoot and problem solve 
•    Willingness to learn many different instrumentation products and solutions 
•    Strong interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills 
•    Comprehensive computer background  
•    Entrepreneurial work ethic 
•    Must be able to distinguish colors 
•    Some lifting of instrumentation equipment (not heavy) 
•    Valid Alberta driver's license and willing to travel
