Summary

We are recruiting for a Subject Matter Expert (SME) to join our Process Systems & Software (PSS) Team, based in Calgary. The SME serves as a technical authority, providing deep product knowledge, guidance, and support across the organization. This role ensures successful implementation, demonstration, and strategic alignment of PSS solutions to meet customer and business objectives.

 

Role and Responsibilities

  • Continuously develop expertise in new Process Systems & Software (PSS) products, features, and technologies to maintain up-to-date knowledge
  • Design and deliver PSS product demos tailored to customer needs and business objectives
  • Manage and maintain the Calgary PlantWeb™ demo room, ensuring systems and demos are operational and reflect current product capabilities
  • Provide cross-office support for PSS product presentations and demonstrations, enabling consistent messaging and technical accuracy
  • Foster strong relationships with Emerson product managers to align on product strategy and roadmap
  • Assist with technical escalations, including troubleshooting product issues and submitting feature enhancement requests to the factory and product management teams
  • Collaborate with Systems TSS and AS teams to develop robust DeltaV system architectures that meet customer requirements and comply with technical specifications
  • Support the PSS proposal team by ensuring technical compliance for RFPs/RFQs and contributing to solution design, write-ups and participate in proposal reviews
  • Cover select installed base accounts

Qualifications and Skills

  • Engineering Degree or Technical Diploma with equivalent experience
  • 5+ years of experience in process automation, control systems, or related technical roles
  • Strong understanding of Emerson PSS products and industry standards
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and work collaboratively across teams
  • Demonstrated ability to drive customer loyalty and business through development of Trusted Advisor status with key customers
  • Entrepreneurial mindset and work ethic; highly motivated to drive results and innovate
  • Demonstrated effectiveness of internal and external communication at various levels of respective organizations
  • Ability and willingness to travel to customer sites throughout the Spartan territory
  • Valid Class 5 Driver’s license
