Summary
We are currently recruiting for an experienced Project Manager to join our Solutions-based Business Units in our Calgary Solutions Centre. The successful candidate will lead multi-disciplinary teams in the delivery of diverse solutions that include electrical equipment and solutions across a diverse customer base. This role will report to the Manager, Operations - Systems, Software & Solutions.
Role and Responsibilities
- Own the project lifecycle through from sales handoff to engineering and design, procurement, assembly and testing to deliver a quality-built solution and exceed Customer’s expectations while applying Spartan Project Excellence processes
- Apply your industry knowledge and technical background while coordinating with internal and external vendors, third party fabricators, suppliers to ensure the project requirements are met including compliance with customer specifications and industry standards
- Utilize strong communication and leadership skills to foster collaborative relationships with Internal and External Customers while leading commercial, technical and project coordination meetings.
- Collaborate with internal teams including Sales, Engineering, Procurement, and Shop Assembly to ensure Customer expectations are exceeded, project demands are satisfied, and engage in continuous improvement for any opportunities throughout the business.
- Set and maintain a project lifecycle schedule and adapt to scope and schedule changes and re-evaluate course of action to complete steps throughout a project while meeting customer’s expected delivery timeline
- Use your strong organizational skills to maintain accurate project financial reporting and ensure effective Change Management
Qualifications and Skills
- Engineering Degree or Technologist Diploma required; PMP designation, an asset
- Minimum 3 years of related experience in the engineered project lifecycles preferably with a focus on electrical integration or manufacturing
- Familiarity with industrial controls, power distribution and applications
- Knowledge of electrical industry regulations CEC 22.1, CSA 254, CSA 286, UL508, UL891, NFPA 70E, and other industry standard electrical QA/QC practices
- Strong leadership skills, with ability to effectively and collaboratively work in a team environment and lead cross functional disciplines to a desired outcome
- Entrepreneurial work ethic with a Customer First focus
