Summary

We are currently recruiting for an experienced Electrical Project Manager to join our Power & Drives Business Unit in our Calgary Solutions Centre. The successful candidate will lead multi discipline teams in the delivery of power & drives solutions across a wide customer base. This role will report to the Manager, Operations - Systems, Software & Solutions.

Role and Responsibilities

  • Own the project lifecycle through from sales handoff to engineering and design, procurement and assembly in order to deliver a quality-built solution and exceed Customer’s expectations while applying Spartan Project Excellence processes
  • Apply your industry knowledge and electrical technical background while collaborating with our Customers and Internal teams to understand and ensure that the project requirements are met including compliance with customer specifications and industry standards.
  • Utilize strong communication and leadership skills to foster relationships with Internal and External Customers while leading commercial, technical and project coordination meetings.
  • Collaborate with internal teams including Sales, Engineering, Procurement, and Shop Assembly to ensure Customer expectations are exceeded, project demands are satisfied, and engage in continuous improvement for any opportunities throughout the business.
  • Set and maintain a project lifecycle schedule and have the ability to quickly change pace and re-evaluate course of action to complete steps throughout a project while meeting customer’s expected delivery timeline.
  • Use your strong organizational skills to maintain accurate project financial reporting and ensure, effective change Management.
  • Resourcefulness to work with your team and other business units to find solutions to project roadblocks.

Qualifications and Skills

  • Electrical Engineering Degree or Electrical Technologist Diploma required.
  • Minimum 3 years of engineering-related project experience ideally with experience in electrical equipment manufacturing
  • Knowledge of industry regulations, standards and practices as they pertain to electrical (power & drives) solutions.
  • Strong leadership skills, with ability to effectively work in a team environment.
  • Entrepreneurial work ethic with a strong customer service focus.
  • PMP designation, an asset.
