Summary
We are recruiting for a Procurement Coordinator to support our Systems, Software & Solutions (S3) business in Calgary. Reporting to the Manager, Strategic Supply Chain & Procurement, you will be responsible for planning and evaluating material requirements from inception through the execution and final delivery of projects. This includes strategic sourcing of materials and services to meet customer specifications and requirements. Working in a team environment, your positive outgoing personality, combined with strong communication skills and relationship building skills, will allow you to work proficiently with internal and external customers.
Role and Responsibilities
- Effectively interface with internal stakeholders – Sales, Project Services, Production, Engineering, Accounting, etc.
- Strategic sourcing of industrial, electrical, instrumentation, mechanical, etc. materials and services; explore alternate sources of supplies and negotiate new contracts, as required
- Purchasing for day-to-day, and (multiple) projects; expediting as required
- Vendor pricing and delivery lead-time quotes for material requested by Sales and Project teams
- Coordinate materials from vendors to manufacturing operations within the project management customer delivery timeframe
- Identify and resolve supply constraints where possible, for active quotes/projects
- Qualify potential new suppliers, evaluate and manage performance of existing suppliers, develop and maintain relationships with preferred vendors
- Review and develop commercial terms and conditions for supply agreements
- Measure and drive action from key performance indicators
- Coordinate supplier meetings and business reviews; understand supplier deliverables and challenges
- Analyze procurement practices; initiate continuous improvement processes to maximize efficiency
- Monitor commodities and make recommendations to meet ever-changing conditions.
- Monitor, maintain and communicate to internal customers, awareness of product line modifications and technical specifications.
Qualifications and Skills
- Purchasing, Supply Chain Diploma or commensurate level of experience an asset
- Post-secondary education, or Supply Chain Designation an asset
- Procurement experience within a manufacturing environment, an asset
- Proven Microsoft Office skills, with an emphasis on Excel
- Demonstrated ability sourcing electrical and instrumentation materials
- Extensive and exceptional customer service habits and practices
- Strong organizational skills
- Strong attention to detail, focus on accuracy and quality
- Self-starter with ability to work effectively independently and in a team environment
- Demonstrated ability to work proactively in
- Ability to manage multiple projects, priorities and internal customers
- Exceptional and extensive communication and negotiating skills
- Entrepreneurial work ethic
