Summary

We are currently recruiting for a Financial Accountant Co-op Student for an 8 month term (September 2025 – April 2026). This role is based in Calgary. The successful candidate will be part of a small, collaborative team that is responsible for corporate financial accounting, analysis, reporting and internal control.

Role and Responsibilities

  • Process all incoming cheque payments daily
  • Reconcile cheque batch to ensure that all cheque payments received are recorded into the general ledger
  • Support the customer credit application process
  • Verify supplier bank account and address changes
  • Assist with customer EFT payment applications
  • Coordinate customer invoice disputes
  • Provide customers with monthly statements and invoices
  • Analyze and identify exceptions in accounts payable invoice transfer process
  • Enter supplier invoices
  • Month end reporting and journal entries
  • Account reconciliations
  • Other duties as required

Qualifications and Skills

  • Currently enrolled in an undergraduate Accounting or Finance related University Co-op/Internship Program, with 3 years of the academic program completed by September 2025.
  • Experience with SAP an asset
  • Problem solver with keen eye for detail
  • Proficient with Excel, working knowledge of Power Point and Word
  • Service oriented approach to providing information and support
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to communicate financial concepts to non-financial people
  • High performing team player
  • High degree of discretion and confidentiality
  • Entrepreneurial work ethic
  • Availability to start in late August is preferred.
