Summary

 

We are currently recruiting for an Application Specialist for our Industry Applications (IA) – Centre of Excellence (CoE) Team. Our team is focused on developing solutions and supporting our customer base in a broad range of industries, while achieving long-term customer relationships through existing & new business.

 

With mentoring from the IA-CoE team, the successful candidate will work with our team, supporting initiatives and promoting the growth strategies around customer applications. Implementing proven solutions and technologies in the field, you will work within our sales team on analytical, process mechanical and custom packaging solutions. Role and Responsibilities

 

  • Prepare and provide quotations/proposals, bid packages for customers on process mechanical, analytical solutions, custom electric and pneumatic panels, and related strategic packaging
  • Collaborate with multiple Business Units (BUs) and outside sales teams to determine customer requirements and recommend solutions
  • Leverage Emerson represented products to create custom packaged solutions
  • Provide technical and commercial advice/expertise to help customers achieve or exceed their delivery and cost goals
  • Work to show value in all customer communications and support
  • Collaborate with Project Managers, solutions centre and our execution team throughout entire project cycle
  • Work to understand the implications of commercial terms on customer projects
  • Support and participate in Industry Applications continuous improvement activities, quantified business and environmental betterments with customers
  • Customer interaction through business development meetings, proposal confirmation and follow-up, and supporting team and social networking events

 

Qualifications and Skills

  • Engineering/Technical degree or diploma; experience with process (Mechanical or Chemical) or Instrumentation
  • Experience and interest in High Pressure Integrity Systems (HIPPS), Blending Solutions, Sample Handling Systems, or analytical applications and custom packaging
  • Curiosity in multi-BU offerings, diverse product and application knowledge
  • Effective interpersonal, communication and organizational skills – both written and verbal
  • Ability to work effectively in team environment
  • Strong technical problem-solving skills
  • Highly motivated, innovative, and a self-starter
