Summary

We are recruiting for a temporary Office & Events Administrator (Co-op Student) based out of our Burnaby Automation Centre. Reporting to the Manager, Facilities & Office Services, this is an exciting opportunity for a student interested in gaining hands-on experience in office operations, event coordination, and cross-functional collaboration within a supportive, professional environment.

 

The term will start in late August or September 2026. While all term lengths will be considered, preference will be given to candidates available for 8 or 12 month terms. Please note that this is an in-office position (Monday to Friday, 8am to 5pm). 

Role and Responsibilities

Sales & Marketing Support

  • Assist the Sales team with CRM data entry, meeting coordination, and ad‑hoc projects
  • Create and format presentations, reports, and other business documents
  • Support the Marketing team with local campaigns and distributing promotional items
  • Update the internal intranet by creating news stories, announcements, and maintaining web content

Event Coordination

  • Support the planning and execution of internal and external (customer-facing) events
  • Prepare invitations, name tags, registration lists, and event materials
  • Coordinate logistics including venue bookings, catering, room set‑ups, and communicating with vendors
  • Welcome guests and provide on-site event support

Office Administration

  • Provide daily administrative support to teams in the Burnaby and Prince George offices
  • Provide back-up coverage to other Facilities & Office Services team members
  • Occasional reception coverage, including greeting visitors, answering phone calls on a multi-line switchboard, and managing a shared email inbox

Qualifications and Skills

  • Currently enrolled in a post-secondary institution studying Business, Marketing or Communications, or similar
  • Microsoft Office skills at an intermediate level (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) an asset
  • Prior experience supporting in-person and virtual events, an asset
  • Strong “Customer First” focus and professionalism
  • Positive team player with strong interpersonal and collaboration skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple priorities
  • Occasional travel and after-hours work required to support customer/company events
  • Valid Driver’s License
  • Entrepreneurial work ethic
